Join Us for the 2011 Lee County HeartWalk

Grace Advisory Group is again a sponsor of this year’s American Heart Association (AHA) Lee County Heart Walk.  We would love to have you join our team or make a pledge of support.

The Walk will take place on December 10, 2011, at Centennial Park in Fort Myers.  Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the Walk starts at 9 a.m.  In addition to the full 3.1 mile Walk, there is an optional 1 mile route.

Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help support AHA research, education, advocacy and assistance for those with cardiovascular diseases.  We can see the results of many of those efforts right here in Lee County:

• Food labels that provide appropriate nutrition information
• Improved nutrition in schools
• CPR guidelines and training
• Advocacy for Automated External Defibrillators in public places
• The Get with the Guidelines program for hospitals to improve the treatment of cardiac and stroke patients

If you are like many of us at Grace Advisory Group, heart disease has affected you, a loved one, a friend, a neighbor.  Judy Nedeau, the captain of the Grace Advisory Group team,has lost both her mother and father to heart disease and working to prevent heart disease is a deeply personal cause for her. Says Judy, “I am very grateful that Grace Advisory Group has embraced this effort.  With heart disease being the #1 killer of Americans, I urge everyone to get involved."
